Maintaining an appropriate storage relies on adequate storage space and storage supplies. When storing items make sure to plan to use more area than you expect to at that time. This will allow you to not only reach and maneuver your stored items, but to also add to them slowly.

Additionally, finding proper storage supplies ensures safe preservation of your items. You will want to keep your items free from dust, infestation as well as moisture. Also you won't want your items to break or fall apart during moves or as you shift boxes around.

Proper storage supplies can include adequate and stable shelving with enough space to both store and remove your items. Some shelving allows for you to get into your boxes without damaging lids or other items. You will also need boxes, bins and/or trunks dependig on the materials you plan to store. Consider what packaging might be beneficial as well: newspaper may smudge and materials can become moldy if proper temperatures can't be maintained. Consider bubble wrap or packing paper.
