A
rocker, or rocking chair, is a piece of furniture with two rounded pieces
located at the bottom of the chair. These allow you to rock back and
forth while maintaining a low center of gravity and relaxing.
A rocker can be made out of virtually any material from
classic and traditional wooden styles and structures to modern and eclectic
metal one-piece structures. Choosing a rocking chair will depend largely
on your tastes and interests. Traditional white, distressed or stained
wooden rockers look good in rustic or cabin-style rooms, while cushioned
rockers are more appropriate for nurseries and bedrooms when reading
or rocking a baby. Metal pieces might be more suited in front rooms
and as accent pieces than as reading chairs.
