Paint
is an excellent way to liven up any room. Paint wall-to-wall or try
checkerboard and stripe pattern painting to bring some color into a
dull room. Painting can also create a background tone to set off rugs,
art, sculptures and furniture. Neutral colors may help your house sell
easier in the future, which makes painting an accent wall a great way
to utilize brighter and risky colors.
When choosing a paint color, remember to track the times and amount
of natural light that enters the room. Some rooms receive more sunlight
than expected, which can change the shade and color. Also, when possible,
procure a small sample of the color and paint a section of the wall.
Leaving a small area painted for about 4-7 days allow you to get comfortable
with the color before deciding if it will compliment the rest of the
room.
