A
mug is a drinking vessel which is built sturdily and primarily used
to hold hot beverages. The heat of such drinking choices as coffee,
tea, or hot chocolate is kept insulated by the thick walls of the mug.
A handle provides the drinker with a way of grasping the cup without
burning his or her hand. Mugs often hold a larger amount of fluid than
the average cup.
There are many interesting mugs available throughout the world. It
is quite common to find a mug with a humorous saying or famous logo
on its surface. Mugs are also sold in decorative sets, and people often
use them to hold pencils or other miscellaneous objects. Because they
can be so decorative as well as practical, various types of mugs are
commonly found in souvenir shops.
