Knobs are practical design features on doors, drawers, and cabinets which offer hand grips to aid in the action of opening. Some are very minimally designed with purely their function in mind. Others are created decoratively in antique fashions as well as in modern styles, which occasionally can disguise their usability.

Brass, copper and silver naturally disinfect themselves of many germs over a period of eight hours through the oligodynamic effect. If you are especially concerned about germ safety, consider using knobs created from one of these materials.
