Home
wall décor is often overlooked, but there are very few things
as important in making a home look as beautiful as you would like.
One of the problems that people face, however, is that they don’t
really know what to do with all of the open space on their walls.
Completely filling up walls with pictures and art and other items
can look tacky if not done correctly.
Likewise, if you do not have enough items covering your walls, they
will look bare and incomplete.
In order to avoid a problem like this occurring in your home, you
should ask yourself the question, “What would I think about
this home wall décor if this were my first time viewing it?”
Sometimes doing something as simple as putting yourself into someone
else’s shoes can clear things up.
So, what kinds of things can you use to decorate the walls of your
home, besides basic paintings and framed photos?
• Shelves – Shelves are important to use for a couple
of reasons. First of all, if you use cherry or oak shelving it is
attractive in and of itself. Secondly, if you want to display things
like awards, plaques, trophies, stuffed animals, sports memorabilia
or a number of other things you cannot simply pin all of this stuff
to a wall. You need shelves to help you out.
• Fabric – One of the more interesting things that some
choose to do with fabric is take long strips that run from the ceiling
to the floor and place them in a few different places in the room.
This fabric usually is just about 2-3 feet wide.
Using these ideas and other ideas to improve your home wall décor
can make big changes in the appearance of your home.
