Even
though baby nursery décor is important to the development of
your child, the most important facet about the room of your child
may actually be the colors on the walls.
A room can include light pastel colors or it can include bright
primary colors. It seems as if some experts can’t agree on what
is best. Some argue that the pastel colors have a soothing affect
on children.
Others, however, claim that the primary colors encourage more cognitive
development among babies. There is no clear-cut answer on this, but
it is possible to use different color schemes in different areas of
the nursery.
The room can be divided into two different sections – a sleep
area and a play area. If a parent subscribes to the theory that light
pastels are relaxing, then she might want to include light pinks and
blues on the walls as well as around the crib. The sheets, bedspread
and crib bumper can follow the same color scheme.
Likewise, if a parent believes that bright primary colors are best
for helping a child’s mind be active and alert, the walls and
floors can be decorated with bright reds, yellows, and blues.
The rest of the baby nursery décor can be designed around
these colors. It is important to think about the baby’s comfort
first and then secondly find what is “cute.”
