The first type of fabric is the cotton fabric. This is the most common type of interior design fabric that is used in homes. Velvet fabric fades easily especially when it is placed in direct sunlight. Stains and dirt that can accumulate over time is also hard to remove from the velvet fabric. You also have to be careful in cleaning the velvet fabric as the fibers of the fabric can easily be altered and torn.

There are also special décor fabrics that are manufactured for outside use. This type of fabric is ideal to use for furniture that are placed in gardens, patios or in areas where there is no roof. Outdoor fabrics don’t easily fade when placed under direct sunlight. Outdoor fabrics are also made to withstand the rain.

Home design fabrics come in different shades and patterns. There are fabrics that come in solid colors and designs to fit any age group. You just have to choose the correct color or pattern that will go well with the theme of your home. Fabrics can also come with enhancements and accessories, such as tassels and trims. These accessories add to the appearance of fabrics that are going to be used for draperies.
