The 60’s was a decade that had a very distinct look. The furniture and interior of 60’s homes and items are easily recognizable. A lot of products and furniture from the 60’s are being recreated today. Some homes have 60’s themes and 60’s furniture which make a big impact on the overall look of the room. Here are some tips on finding authentic furniture and items from the 1960’s.

Chairs were a big part of the furniture in the 1960’s. There were different chairs created in the 1960’s that are considered as pieces of art. These chairs were created by Mies van der Rohe and Charles and Ray Eames. The chairs that these designers created are still being copied by different manufacturers today.

In order to know if the product that you are going to purchase is authentic, check the chairs to see if there is a signature of the designer. Authentic manufactures make sure that there is a logo for the manufacturing company accompanied by the signature of the designer. It is also advisable to check which manufacturing companies are producing authentic chairs. In some cases, they only manufacture the chair upon ordering. Another piece that can easily be identified as a piece from the 1960’s is the Dalu lamp. The Dalu lamp is a desk lamp that was designed by Vico Magistretti. These retro plants were usually used in the living room of the house. They are seen not only as a light fixture but were also considered a work of art.

The 1960’s was a decade where they used solid and bold colors in decorating their homes or rooms. The most popular hues during that time were red, orange, green or blue. Different furniture and household items were also manufactured in different bold colors.
